Qualifications for External Candidates:

• Passed the G.C.E. (O/L) examination in six subjects in one sitting.

• Obtained credit passes in four subjects, including: Sinhala / Tamil, English Language, Mathematics.

• Passed three subjects (excluding the General Paper) at the G.C.E. (A/L) examination.

Qualifications for Internal Candidates:

• Eligible Categories: Primary Level – Skilled / Semi-skilled / Unskilled
• Education: Passed G.C.E. (O/L) in 6 subjects, Credit passes in 4 subjects including: Sinhala/Tamil, English (if required), Mathematics.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years satisfactory service in a permanent post in the above categories.

Age:

• Age: 18–45 years (no upper limit for internal candidates).
• Salary: Rs. 40,403/- + Rs. 17,800/- (Cost of Living).
• Must be a Sri Lankan citizen.
• Physically and mentally fit to serve anywhere on the island.
• excellent moral character.
