SEWING TECHNICIAN (MDS, RATHMALANA)

Over the last three and a half decades - MAS Intimates has differentiated itself in the global fashion industry through its innovation mindset, strong technical competency, and sustainability initiative.

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the MAS Capital -Intimates - Rathamalana as a Sewing Technician to take ownership of product construction (Sewing & Bonding) during product development by providing accurate, cost-effective and manufacturing feasible construction methods to meet expected customer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create construction break down according to the designer sketch/ Sample and aligning to the chassis, while giving feedback when and where necessary to ensure production feasibility.
  • Conduct sewing meetings with the relevant stakeholders to explain production feasible construction methods, required quality points, bonding and technology variables & SOPs etc.
  • Follow through the sample-making process to ensure necessary construction adjustments as required
  • Take ownership of achieving required quality standards (i.e. measurement and quality points) and assist team members when and where needed.
  • Verify the final product in terms of quality and design intent and hand it to the Pattern Tech according to the critical path date to ensure the right samples the first time.
  • Communicate required BOM update to merchant via E mail and communicate required sewing and pattern corrections to pattern tech through style feedback sheet.
  • On-time construction submission for Costing (PLM) to ensure data accuracy to the costing team
  • On-time final construction submission for thread ordering to ensure data accuracy to costing and tread
  • team.
  • Come up with cost improvement initiatives during sample making process to ensure to encourage team members and mechanics to do the same.
  • Contribution to factory engagement points (DRA, PDRA, FI) to effectively communicate productionable construction methods (Sewing & Bonding) in order to ensure smooth production.
  • Conduct sewing technical meeting for non-technical samples, and once completed ensure to handed over Samples to the PD team with the right quality within agreed lead time.
  • Support team members in uplifting their skills and provide to ensure accurate constructive feedback.

Qualifications, Experience, Skill and Competencies: 

  • At least 2 years of working experience as a Sewing Operator / Sample Maker
  • Product-specific sewing and construction experience (Specifically apparel)
  • Relevant Certificate / Diploma will be an added advantage
  • Basic Computer and English Literacy
  • Fundamental understanding of Technology Products
