POSITION: Production/Operations Assistant Manager

LOCATION: Biyagama, Sri Lanka

SALARY: LKR 220,000 – 280,000 (Gross) + Bonus++

OVERVIEW:

A leading multinational manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Production/ Operations Assistant Manager to join its dynamic team in Biyagama, Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and optimizing day-to-day manufacturing operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring production efficiency in line with global standards. This is a strategic role suited for individuals with strong operational insight and a background in manufacturing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee daily operations of the manufacturing/production facility ensuring efficiency and quality standards are met.
Assist in planning, organizing, and monitoring production schedules and workflows.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, quality control, and logistics.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce operational costs.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare operational reports for senior management.
Support health, safety, and environmental compliance in line with company policies and local regulations.
Drive employee engagement and development within the operations team.
Foster strong communication with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

PRE - REQUISITES:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or a related field (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in production, operations, or manufacturing within any manufacturing industry.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvements.
