Head of Finance Unit – Sri Lanka Medical Council

The Sri Lanka Medical Council, established by the Medical Ordinance (Chapter 105) is the regulatory body for medical, dental, and other healthcare professionals in Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lanka Medical Council will entertain applications from suitably qualified persons for the post of Head of Finance of the Sri Lanka Medical Council. The selected candidate would be a permanent full-time officer of the Sri Lanka Medical Council.

This job would include:

1. Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the Council ensuring the appropriate treasury control.
2. Providing sound technical support and insights to enable us to make critical business decisions.
3. Preparation of financial and management information.
4. Effective budgetary control and procurement procedures.
5. Investment and cash management.

The ideal candidate would have:

1. A Bachelor's Degree with Honors in Accountancy/ Commerce from a recognized university, along with intermediate-level qualification in a professional accounting body such as ICASL, CIMA, ACCA or ACMA.
2. A minimum of five years of experience in a senior financial management role with a proven track record of success.
3. Proficiency in Computer Literacy.
4. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
5. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
6. Good team spirit and impeccable work ethic.
7. Possess knowledge and experience in Government financial procedures including financial regulations procurement procedures and auditing.

Salary Scale:

• HM-1-1-2016 Rs. [86,865-15 x 2,270 - 120,915]

Age Limit:

• As per the conditions stipulated in the government circulars.

Method of Selection:

• The selection shall be made through a structured interview conducted by an interview board.

The appointment is permanent and subject to probation for a period of three years.
