Technician (Operation Theatre) – University Hospital KDU

Applications are made from qualified candidates for the following post at the University Hospital (On an assignment basis).

Qualifications:

• Two years (02) Diploma in Technician (Operation Theatre) from an Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission. 

AND 

• Should have a minimum of one year (01) experience as an Operation Theatre Technician. 

OR 

• Should possess a two-year (02) Diploma in Technician (Operation Theatre) conducted by the Ministry of Health. 

AND 

• Should have a minimum of one year experience as a Technician (Operation Theatre). 

OR 

• Should possess a two-year full-time certificate course in Technician (Operation Theatre) conducted by the Military Medical Corps, Ministry of Health or College of Anesthesiologists. 

AND 

• Should have a minimum of one year experience as a Technician (Operation Theatre). GENERAL SIR JOHN KOTELAWALA DEFENCE UNIVERSITY Applications are called from qualified candidates for the following posts at the University Hospital (On an Hourly Payment Basis)

OR  

• A certificate of proficiency not less than NVQ Level 4 in National Vocational Skills issued by a Technical / Vocational Training Institute recognized by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission which is relevant to the role of the post and a minimum of one year experience as an Technician (Operation Theatre) after obtaining the above qualification.

General Conditions:

• Hourly payments to the Technician (Operation Theatre) will be made based on Circular No. TA/G/PSM/13/2016 dated 02 June 2017 of the Ministry of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine. 
• Duly completed applications with certified copies of relevant certificates should be submitted under Registered Post to reach the “Executive Director, University Hospital, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Werahera” on or before 10.03.2025. The post applied for should be indicated on the top left-hand corner of the envelope. 
• General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University reserves the right to shortlist the prospective applicants. 
• Incomplete or late applications or applications which do not comply with the prescribed format will be rejected. 
• These staff so recruited shall be considered as the Hospital Staff and not as the Academic Staff of the University.
