Director (Commercial & Operations) – Port City Colombo

The Colombo Port City Economic Commission is the Government Authority entrusted with the administration, regulation, and control of all matters related to businesses and operations within the Area of Authority of Colombo Port City.

Established by the Colombo Port City Economic Commission (CPCEC) Act, No. 11 of 2021, the CPCEC also serves as the Single Window Investment facilitator for promoting ease of doing business within Colombo Port City, towards creating a business-enabling environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director General of the CPCEC, the incumbent will be responsible for leading and overseeing all commercial and operational activities within the Colombo Port City while fostering strong stakeholder relationships, and analysis of data to inform strategic decision-making. This includes engaging with potential investors in a proactive and timely manner while managing all key tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBlLITIES:

• Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive commercial strategy to optimize existing revenue streams and identify new opportunities.
• Oversee day-to-day commercial operations and ensure efficient and profitable functioning.
• Engage and foster strong relationships with stakeholders. including government authorities and partners.
• Monitor performance against key metrics and prepare reports.
• Manage commercial budgets and ensure adherence to financial targets.
• Execute other key tasks assigned by the Director General.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Master's degree in business administration or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of experience leading commercial operations at Strategic/Senior level in a similar capacity,
• Proven Track record of success in achieving commercial and operational objectives.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial and operations best practices.
• Ability to develop and implement effective commercial and operational strategies.
