We are looking for an experienced and tenacious individual, who has already demonstrated their ability to work in an early-stage startup, to drive our go-to-market efforts of Daraz’s new fintech venture, Koko in Sri Lanka. Koko is a Buy Now Pay Later payment platform incubated under Daraz and was founded in Sri Lanka in 2020. We are passionate about evolving the merchant and consumer shopping experience by providing our customers with an easy, interest-free payment plan. Koko will be completely free for customers who pay on time – helping people spend responsibly without incurring interest, fees, or extended debt. Koko empowers customers to access the things they want and need, while still allowing them to maintain financial wellness and control, by splitting payments in three, for both online and in-store purchases. To support our ambitious growth plans, we’re looking for smart, collaborative, and passionate people who are looking to make a genuine impact in Sri Lanka’s financial and retail ecosystem.


Our team is looking for Commercial Manager who match the following job role:

-Make Koko the leading payment platform of choice among a merchant network of entrepreneurs, SMB’s, corporates, meaning you will execute and further develop our local strategy to achieve presence on offline, online and social media selling channels.
-As a commercial lead, you’ll be responsible for enabling a merchant network to achieve commercial goals.
-You’ll make sure to deliver in accordance with team KPIs.
-Providing end-to-end service to merchants (channel management, marketing, payments included)
-Define team objectives and outcomes. Enable success across boundaries. Help the team adapt and learn.
-Establish, motivate and carry out improvements to merchant acquisition and activation.
-Perform business analysis, generate insights, do business planning and manage.
-Finding new opportunities by understanding merchant’s business and market trends and identifying key merchants’ decision-makers keen on improving their business results.
-Work cross-functionally and globally representing the commercial wing of the Sri Lankan operation.


Requirement:

-5+ years of experience in an early stage to mid startup e-commerce or fintech, leading the sales and growth efforts.
-Long track record of successfully leading commercial teams.
-An excellent communicator with strong cross-functional stakeholder networking skills.
-Collaborate with individuals at all levels.
-Experience and understanding of effective go-to-market strategies.
-Hands-on experience in negotiation and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional business environment.
