Location: Teaching Centers in Colombo, Kandy, Jaffna and Matara
Role Purpose
To promote and ensure quality teaching and effective learning of English
Challenges & Accountabilities
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality English language teaching that meets the needs of different customer groups taking into account individual learning styles, integrating learning technologies into everyday classroom practice to enhance language learning, and completing teaching related duties to specified standards. This teaching will include adult learners initially and then based on centre needs and requirements, young learners.

-Teacher with post qualification experience
Requirements
-First Degree (or equivalent)
-Cambridge CELTA/Trinity Cert TESOL
-Relevant post qualification experience recognised by the British Council at the discretion of the British Council
Hourly paid rate
LKR 2,000 per teaching hour inclusive of course admin and teaching prep, mentor/class observation meetings and trainings.

Additional Information
-Teaching availability will depend on demand and operational requirements.
-Peak teaching demand are during weekends and weekday evenings up to 10pm IST. Currently we have immediate demand for teaching. Peak demand is on weekday afternoon, evenings, and weekends.
-This opportunity will suit candidates who can give us their availability during times of demand.
-Teaching hours are not guaranteed and will depend on availability of classes.
-Induction period is staggered and will include input sessions, class observations, and familiarisation of course materials. This period will be unpaid.

-Sri Lankan citizen or holder of a valid work permit / residence visa (The British Council does not sponsor visa for these positions)
-Need to produce all required documents for pre appoinment screening. This includes ID & address verification, Police Checks, 3 references
