Executive - Financial Accounting - MAS Bodyline Horana
Bodyline is a joint venture between MAS Holdings, Triumph International Germany and Mast Industries USA, offering apparel solutions from concept to delivery. Bodyline specializes in producing fitted garments and superior next-to-skin performance wear; and is the go-to vendor for bra innovations. The company has evolved from making simple minimalist styles for a single customer to multiple styles and silhouettes across product categories for global brands.
Looking for a dynamic individual to develop, maintain and analyze budgets, prepare periodic reports to compare budgeted costs against actual costs while contributing to the development and implementation of accounting and internal control systems by practicing good corporate governance and MAS policies and procedures across the plant, with the focus of improving overall plant profitability and effectiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with operational teams to prepare the annual departmental budget.
- Ensure alignment with corporate strategies and goals.
- Prepare reports on plant profitability and operational performance for management.
- Lead discussions on performance and follow up on action points to improve operations.
- Prepare accounting entries for month-end closure.
- Liaise with Legato shared services team for accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct necessary analysis before finalizing month-end accounts.
- Oversee project proposals and plant operations.
- Identify cost efficiency opportunities and suggest process improvements.
- Maintain records and approve plant-related payments and purchase orders.
- Assist with timely payment processes.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of internal control policies.
- Ensure governance across the plant.
- Maintain an accurate petty cash float.
- Manage the fixed assets register and reconcile accounts.
- Verify accuracy of disposals and ensure month-end depreciation runs to support financial reporting and audits.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Graduated with an Accounting or Finance Degree.
- Finalist or Partly Qualified ICASL / ACA / ACCA .
- Computer literate with good excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting and internal controls.
- Awareness of current technical and reporting requirements.
- The flexibility and independence to work in changing environment.
- Ability to address issues with minimum supervision
- Good Communication skills in English
- 1-2 years minimum experience in Finance or auditing fields.
