Project Accountant – Ministry of Education, Higher Education & Vocational Education

Applications are invited from qualified citizens of Sri Lanka for the below-mentioned post of the project of constructing the Medical Faculty of the University of Sabaragamuwa, which is implemented by the Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education under loan grants of the Government of Saudi Arabia. This project has been established as a Project Management Unit in conformity with the provisions of Circular No. 01/2019 dated 05.03.2019 issued by the Department of Management Services and the total value of the cost is US $ SO Million. The Civil Construction works of the Project commenced in January 2024 and the scheduled date of completion will end in January 2026.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

• A successfully completed Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field which is recognized by the University Grants Commission.

 Or

• A Qualification recognized by the University Grants Commission as an equivalent qualification to the Degree in the relevant Field. 

Or

• An Associate Membership / a similar professional qualification obtained from a recognized professional institution in the relevant field.

 With

• At least 07 Years post qualifying experience in the relevant field.
• An officer of the Government All Island Services Class III/Il or above or similar status in the relevant field.
• With
• At least 07 years of experience in Class III/II post.

General Conditions:

• It is compulsory to fulfil all the qualifications relevant to the post by each applicant on or before the date of calling applications.
• Experience in working for the Saudi Development Fund or any other foreign-funded construction development project will be a special qualification.
• Age Limit: Maximum age of 64 years or less than that.
• Salary: Salary and other allowances entitled in terms of Circular No. 01/ 2019 dated 05.03.2019 and relevant amendments issued by the Department of Management Services of the Ministry of Finance.

Service Conditions :

• Will be appointed for a one-year duration on a contract basis. ll will be considered to extend that period for a maximum of one year considering the performance and the service requirement.
