Senior Deputy Manager – Margin Trading
The job holder is responsible to execute strategy and grow the Capital Market related loan portfolio of retail banking as set out in Bank's overall budget while leading and assisting in overall internal management and smooth functioning of Capital market related assets of Retail Banking.
The Job:
-Develop business plans to achieve targets for Capital Market based products of the Bank and to ensure such plans are executed timely and orderly in order to keep up with the set time limits of the Bank.
-Develop business ties with Customers, Brokering firms, Wealth Management companies and Regulatory bodies to enhance Bank’s revenue.
-Coordinate with stake holders and make use of the available internal / external research materials for market surveys to identify profitable customer needs / segments.
-Monitor and Control all facilities exposed to stock market activities daily and initiate proper action to keep the portfolio within the set internal /external margins or regulatory limits of SEC and CBSL.
-Liaise with the Legal department of the Bank in preparation of legal documents and hold responsibility for lodgment of all original legal documents for safe keeping.
-Ensure continuous improvement of policies, systems, processes and practices, changes in local and international capital market conditions, changes in business environment and changes in regulatory requirements which demand proactive action plans, with minimum human intervention.
-Responsible for smooth functioning of aspect related to dividends, rights, splits, takeovers, mergers and de-listings etc.
-Driving products among other subsidiaries of the Bank via available channels
-Develop products to increase market share and monitoring the entire product life cycle while providing extension strategy when necessary.
The Person:
-The candidate must possess at least one of the following academic qualifications
-A degree from a recognized university in the fields of Finance Accountancy, Business Administration, Commerce or Economics; or
Member/Associate of a professional body of Accountant recognized by the International Federation of Accountants; or
Chartered Financial Analyst; or
Associate of the Charted Institute of Bankers; or
Associate of the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka; or
Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments; or
-Possess at least 7 years’ of experience in Banking where minimum 4 years current experience in Margin Trading
-Capital market related CSE qualification will be an added advantage
-Possess excellent communication / presentation skills
-Should possess skills in Customer Relationship Management
-Experience in the sector of capital markets
-Possess good planning, organizing and co-ordination skills
