Engineer (Mechanical) – Ceylon Petroleum Corporation

Recruitment of Engineers on a Contract Basis for the Tanks Development Project at the Trincomalee Tank Farm Complex belonging to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

Service condition:

• Contract Basis for 1 Year.

Qualifications:

• BSc Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering obtained from a University accepted by the University Grant Commission and post-qualified experience of 03 years as an Engineer working in development projects at recognized organizations.
• Possessing Chartered / Postgraduate / Professional Qualification (such as PMP, AWS, CSWIP & API) will be an added qualification.

Job Description:

• Assume responsibility for the execution of Tank Repair/  Pipeline works tinder the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm.
• Study/Generate/Modify/Verify the Engineering Drawings related to the Tank Repair/ Pipeline laying works under the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm.
• Should be familiar with ASME and API codes and be able to carry out mechanical design works which include but are not limited to Pipeline design, Pumping System and transfer system, Steel structures and FEA analysis using solid works, Ansys.
• Carry out 3D modelling of mechanical components using Solid Works, Cadworx, and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (process, electrical, civil) to integrate process designs into the overall facility layout, using AutoCAD, and GIS tools.
• Planning, executing and monitoring of Tank Repair/ Pipes laying works under the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards.
• Liaising with the contractors related to the Tank Repair/ Pipe laying works under the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm and upholding the CPC interests while monitoring the Tank Repair/ Pipe laying works.
• Monitoring the Progress of Tank Repair/ Pipe laying works under the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm and reporting the progress and issues if any to the Lead Mechanical Engineer.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and safety teams to ensure timely and safe project completion.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (API 650/653/570), codes and regulatory requirements and oversee the work of welding and repair crews, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
• Oversee all stages of the pipeline laying process, including excavation, alignment, welding, testing, and commissioning.
• Conduct quality assurance checks, including hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, and weld inspections, documenting all results.
• Prepare daily progress reports, maintain project documentation, and contribute to project review meetings, using Gantt charts generated from MS-Project and Primavera P6.
• Performing/involved in any other related duties entrusted by the PMU and the Higher Management when and where necessary.

Salary Scale:

• Rs. 350,000.00 (Including all allowances.

Age Limit:

• Should not be more than 45 years of age as at closing date of applications (The maximum age limit will not be applicable to those who are in the service of the Government Departments, Corporations, Boards and Statutory Bodies)

Fringe Benefits:

• The Project will contribute 12% of the salary towards the EPF whilst the employee will have to contribute 08%. The Corporation will also contribute 3% of the salary towards the ETF.
• Note:- This contractual appointment will not entitle or legally bind any permanent appointment in the Corporation.
