Engineer (Electrical) – Ceylon Petroleum Corporation

Recruitment of Engineers on a Contract Basis for the Tanks Development Project at the Trincomalee Tank Farm Complex belonging to Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.

Service condition:

• Contract Basis for 1 Year.

Qualifications:

• BSc Engineering Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering obtained from a University accepted by the University Grant Commission and post-qualified experience of 03 years as an Engineer working on development projects at recognized organizations.
• Possessing Chartered/ Postgraduate / Professional Qualification (such as PMP, AWS, CSWIP & API) will be an added qualification.

Job Description:

• Plan, design, and oversee installation of electrical systems, control panels, power distribution, instrumentation, SCADA, PLC etc. for tank farm operations.
• Supervise on-site electrical and instrumentation activities, ensuring compliance, with project specifications, industry standards, and safety protocols.
• Study/Generate/Modify/Verify the Engineering Drawings related to the Electrical/Instrument works under the 24 Tanks Development Project in Trincomalee Tank farm.
• Inspect, test, and commission electrical installations, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality control throughout the project.
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to optimize project workflows and timelines.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations (e.g., NFPA, IEC, NEC, IEE etc.) and oversee safe operation of electrical equipment.
• Prepare documentation, including installation logs, test repo1is, and daily progress updates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, monitor their adherence to design specifications, and ensure quality control.
• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure safety, compliance, and adherence to prop plans.
• Collaborate closely with the process, civil and mechanical engineering teams to integrate instrumental and electrical requirements with piping, electrical, and storage requirements.
• Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Ensure that all construction activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as project-specific safety and environmental guidelines.
• Develop and implement safety protocols for all electrical works, minimizing risks associated with excavation, heavy equipment use, and hazardous material handling.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans for potential construction hazards.
• Performing/involved in any other related duties entrusted by the PMU and the Higher Management when and where necessary.

Salary Scale:

• Rs. 350,000.00 (Including all allowances.

Age Limit:

• Should not be more than 45 years of age as at closing date of applications (The maximum age limit will not be applicable to those who are in the service of the Government Departments, Corporations, Boards and Statutory Bodies)

Fringe Benefits:

• The Project will contribute 12% of the salary towards the EPF whilst the employee will have to contribute 08%. The Corporation will also contribute 3% of the salary towards the ETF.
• Note:- This contractual appointment will not entitle or legally bind any permanent appointment in the Corporation.
