Term Calendar that must be followed within year 2025 at the National Colleges of Education and the relevant details are given below.

First term: 

• From January 02nd Thursday, 2025 to April 30th ‘Wednesday, 2025 ( both days included) ( Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays shall be granted from 09.04.2025 t0 20.04.2025) (both days included)

Second term: 

• From May 02nd Friday, 2025 to July 31st Thursday, 2025 (both days included) (Holiday shall be granted from 01.08.2025 to 31.08.2025)

Third term: 

• From September 01st Monday, 2025 to December 12th Friday, 2025 (both days included) (Holiday will be granted from 13.12.2025 to 31.12.2025)

Approval for Special holidays required for National Colleges of Education must be obtained by the Chief Commissioner (Teacher Education). However, the number of days required for the year should be covered.

The Public Holiday Calendar and the College of Education Calendar for the year 2025 are forwarded to you herewith. (Annexure 01 and Annexure 02 )

In accordance with the National College of Education Code, the total number of working days at a National College of Education should be 210 and should not be less than 200 days.

If any problem is arisen in the implementation of this schedule. you are kindly requested to enquire on such from the Chief Commissioner (Teacher Education whereas the programme contained herein may change from time to time depending on the prevailing situation. If there is any change happening as such, it shall be notified If for any reason, if there is any change in the dates of the above programmes by the College, the National College of Education Branch of the Ministry of Education should be informed accordingly.
