Senior Software Engineer (PHP) – Urban Development Authority Battaramulla

Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified citizens of Sri Lanka, for the following vacancies. Applicants should possess the qualifications and experience outlined below.

Educational Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, lasting a minimum of three years (should be recognized by the University Grant Commission of Sri Lanka) 

Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency in PHP (object-oriented programming and procedural) 
• Familiarity with MySQL, MariaDB, or other relational databases. 
• Experience with PHP frameworks such as Laravel, Experience in Linux Operating System (CentOS Stream or AlmaLinux)

Experience: 

A minimum of five years of experience in the software industry, along with a portfolio or GitHub repository showcasing completed projects, is advantageous.

Experience in the following areas  would be significant advantage: 

•  Composer and package management 
•  Security best practices (SQL injection, XSS, CSRF) 
•  Understanding the MERN stack. 
•  Basic knowledge understanding of Docker or virtualization 
•  CI/CD pipelines 
•  IDEs VS Code, PhpStorm, Visual Studio, or NetBeans. 
•  RESTful API integration and development. 
•  Version Control Systems (e.g., Git) and understanding of MVC architecture. 
•  HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX proficiency. 

Soft Skills:

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

Period of Assignment: Three years (03)
