Senior Executive - Group Consolidation & Compliance - MAS Capital

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the MAS Holdings team as a Senior Executive - Group Consolidation & Compliance ! This role would enable you to perform consolidation and compliance activities of the Group by adhering to the accounting procedures & policies of the group to enable effective, efficient and timely deliverables for day to day operational activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing the Group's multi-currency consolidation process, integrating thorough joint venture accounting, aligns seamlessly with bi-annual internal management and statutory obligations, meticulously adhering to IFRS standards. This refined process ensures the synthesis of diverse financial data, enabling precision, transparency, and strategic financial management at every juncture.
  • Support efforts to identify, cultivate, deploy, and enhance the consolidation process through the utilization of cost-effective tools and autonomation. This entails fostering initiatives aimed at refining and optimizing the consolidation process to drive efficiency, efficacy, and value generation across the organization.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, encompassing multi-currency intercompany reconciliations, to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting. This involves meticulously aligning financial data across diverse currencies and entities to maintain transparency and coherence in the balance sheet.
  • Deliver precise and prompt financial information and analysis for routine reporting as well as ad hoc inquiries. This entails ensuring the provision of accurate and timely financial insights to meet both standard reporting requirements and spontaneous data requests.
  • Conduct specialized research and analysis on diverse accounting matters to support unique projects or specific requests. This involves providing tailored insights and investigative reports to address distinct accounting challenges or initiatives as they arise.
  • Identify evolving accounting standards from diverse regulatory bodies and assess their implications for the Group. This involves analysing the potential impacts of these developments on the organization's financial practices and strategic decision-making.
  • Facilitate the Group Audit Plan and coordinate interactions with auditors. This involves supporting the planning and execution of audits while maintaining effective communication and collaboration with auditing teams.
  • Revise the Group Accounting Policies to incorporate shifts in the business landscape and adopt leading industry practices. This involves updating our accounting framework to reflect evolving business dynamics and adhere to the highest standards of excellence in our financial practices.
  • Enhance the Group's Accounting Procedures to integrate shifts in the business environment and embrace industry-leading practices. This involves updating our procedural framework to align with evolving business dynamics and uphold the highest standards of operational excellence.
  • Revise the Group's Chart of Accounts to meet the informational needs of the organization effectively. This involves updating and optimizing our chart to ensure it aligns seamlessly with the Group's evolving requirements and enhances financial transparency and clarity.
  • Compile essential governance inputs for organization-wide initiatives and contribute insights for operational, reporting, and monitoring endeavors. This entails providing strategic guidance and actionable recommendations to support cohesive governance practices across the Group's activities.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or equivalent professional qualification ( CA Sri Lanka, ACA, ACCA, etc.)
  • Above 3 years of combined experience in a Big Four Accounting Firm as well as in industry working including experience in IFRS consolidated reporting and preparation of Group Financial Statements.
  • In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting
  • Excellent command of ERP, BI, EPM tools, Microsoft Excel, strong analytical, report writing and communication skills
  • Audit experience (preferably with Big 4 exposure).
  • Consolidation experience.
  • Expertise in financial accounting and internal controls.
