Assistant Manager - Corporate Finance and Treasury - MAS Capital

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the team as an Assistant Manager - Corporate Finance and Treasury. This role would enable you to be a part of Creating and implementing strategies to manage funds, funding requirements, investments and risks to achieve organizational objectives under guidance of DGM – Treasury.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and expand relationships with financial partners across existing and new markets to address facility needs, negotiate terms, and diversify partnerships as required.
  • Oversee process to monitor dynamic macro /micro economic factors and regulatory changes which affect/ likely to affect  the business and providing strategic direction to navigate the risks associated with it and/or maximise any opportunities which may arise. 
  • Oversee economic and regulatory risk monitoring to provide strategic financial direction, including analysis and recommendations on cash exposure, global liquidity, and foreign exchange risk management through hedging strategies and continuous performance tracking.
  • Evaluate project proposals and capital investments for compliance and strategic alignment, providing recommendations to support informed management decisions.
  • Conduct investment appraisals, feasibility studies, and due diligence to support strategic decisions on investments, divestments, JVs, M&As, including financial projections, valuations, and risk-return analyses to ensure alignment with MAS objectives.
  • Manage group treasury operations to ensure optimal liquidity and returns, factoring in country-specific risks, regulatory changes, and currency dynamics, while maintaining banking relationships and aligning cash resources with group-wide financial needs.
  • Manage and optimize group borrowing structures by analyzing debt needs, advising on capital structures, mitigating risks, supporting negotiations, and aligning financing strategies with evolving economic and regulatory conditions.
  • Establish and continuously update end-to-end treasury policies, procedures, systems, and controls across FX, cash, debt, equity portfolios, group structures, and investments to align with market trends and organizational needs.
  • Evaluate and advice on  project proposals and capital investments Submitted by business units from a treasury perspective, and make appropriate recommendations 
  • Carry out investment appraisals, feasibility studies, market research, country research etc. 
  • Lead the treasury component of strategic planning and budgeting by reviewing performance, analyzing SBU budgets, advising on treasury strategy, and providing timely insights and recommendations to senior management and the board.
  • Assess cash flow projections of the business units to propose solutions to cash flow requirements ensure sufficient liquidity management measures are implemented ensure uninterrupted BAU.
  • Manage central cash reserves in Sri Lanka and Singapore to optimize risk-adjusted returns, while supporting the setup of new ventures through capital structuring, regulatory negotiations, and investor/JV discussions.
  • Lead interest rate risk management by analyzing group borrowings, advising SBUs on debt terms, recommending mitigation strategies, and optimizing capital structures across the group.
  • Advise senior management on group structuring and potential restructurings, ensuring alignment with tax efficiency and long-term strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or Economics along with a Professional Qualification in CIMA or CA,
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience at a bank treasury operation preferred.
