The Department of Agriculture of the Central Provincial Council of Sri Lanka is responsible for developing and improving agriculture in the province. The department's work includes research, extension, and development projects.

We do research and extension activities and several development projects. Our organization consists of three district-level Deputy Directors of Agriculture offices and the Provincial Research Unit at Pallekale. There are 11 segments which are sub-district units and are named Assistant Directors of Agriculture.
