Partnership Specialist – Non-Corporate

Job Profile
 
The position will lead and manage all national level partnerships with non-corporate organizations, associations, educational institutes, clubs and societies, churches and other faith-based organizations, as well as High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and other individual donors both local & international.
 
Major Responsibilities
• Strategically spearhead and execute the Annual Business Plan (ABP) for NRD by formulating and cascading quarterly targets, ensuring their alignment with revenue objectives, and proactively expanding the portfolio of donors and partners and other funding sources
• Design and implement strategies to establish relationships & secure funding from non-corporate organizations, associations, educational institutes, clubs and societies, churches and other faith-based organizations, as well as High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI) and other individual donors
• Collaborate closely with communications team, other NRD team specialists and management to develop and build on brand visibility and communication to attract greater funding
• Lead and oversee comprehensive market analysis on innovative methodologies/strategies of partnership and fundraising
• Initiate new relationships with prospecting donors and deepen & maintain relationships with existing donors to ensure strong diverse base of organizational supporters.
• Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation team to ensure impactful project design, smooth monitoring process during and after a project and delivering significant impact through each evaluation of the project.
• Maintain a marketing information system to ensure all partnership information is captured for consistent donor relationships
Support when required in compiling monthly, quarterly and annually reports on partnership statistics to the management.
• Provide leadership to the team to contribute towards a positive, supportive and productive departmental culture
 
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in any two - Institutional, Corporate, Legacy, Major Donor and Trusts fundraising and broad exposure to all four technical approaches.
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Economics, Development, Non-profit Management or other applicable field
• A Master’s Degree would be advantageous in any of the above fields
• A thorough understanding of the development sector; development issues and SDGs, development approaches across span of sectors such as Health and Nutrition, WASH, Education and Life Skills, Child protection and Participation, Livelihood and Enterprise Development, Gender and Disability, DRR, Climate change and Environment.
• Strong negotiating and influencing skills
• Experience that demonstrates ability to launch and/or scale up fundraising activities
• position requires to travel up to 20% of the time
• Well conversed in spoken and written English and/or Sinhala and Tamil languages
